The soccer season is being delayed by a week due to the excessive snow and now rain. We are planning on starting on the week of May 26. We are looking pretty good for coaches. Help is always needed at the executive level. A referee scheduler is needed.
Before we can even get to referees for the season, we need to address a shortage of coaches at the u9 level. We currently only have one person who has stepped forward to volunteer. We are looking for 3 other parents to take on the challenge. I will be sending an email to all families that I have contact information for today asking for their support.
Yesterday several young men took the first step into the realm of referee by taking the small sided referee clinic put on by the OSA. I look forward to seeing them on the pitch this summer. Please encourage all of our referees through positive comments directed at players this summer. It is a challenge to get people to even take a paid position as a referee. We need to get more of them involved.
